In 1996, GARY LEVINSOHN (Executive Producer) and producer Mark Gordon formed Mutual Film Company for the production and co-financing of feature films. Most recently, Levinsohn and Gordon executive produced A Simple Plan, directed by Sam Raimi and starring Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton and Bridget Fonda. Mutual Film International also co-financed and performed foreign distribution on the film. Levinsohn and Gordon also developed and producedwith Steven Spielberg and Ian Brycethis past summers critical and commercial hit Saving Private Ryan, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks. Levinsohn served as producer on 1998s Paulie: A Parrots Tale, for Dreamworks SKG. Also under the Mutual banner, Levinsohn and partner Gordon have been involved in the production and co-financing of numerous films, including The Jackal, starring Bruce Willis and Richard Gere and Hard Rain, starring Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater. With Levinsohn serving as executive producer, Mutual co-financed with Universal (and distributed internationally), the recent releases Primary Colors, directed by Mike Nichols and starring John Travolta and Emma Thompson and Black Dog, starring Patrick Swayze. Prior to teaming up with Gordon, Levinsohn was involved in production and co-financing, and served as executive producer on a number a films, including the international hit Twelve Monkeys, Angus, The Real McCoy and Carlitos Way. |
